When I was creating the #BASEDRUSTY, I didn’t know that was what I was doing. I have something that I post a lot, say to myself and believe in, wholeheartedly. This is my saying and my M.O. with everything I do…EVERYTHING.

I deal with the #BASEDRUSTY. That’s my guy. When I was put up on #BASED music by @Catf1sh (one of my favorite people in my social-media circle, man. Thank God for #SHRUGLIFE), I really didn’t know what to think. Yes, I did. I hated it. I thought it was silly and something this kid, @LILBTHEBASEDGOD. I told Catfish, “NAH, MAN. NAH.”, but Catfish had a feeling I would dig some stuff and his enthusiasm for the OVERALL ATTITUDE and WORK-ETHIC of #BASED was something I related to.
‘Fish kept thanking the #BASEDGOD. I kept seeing him tweet about it. I asked him to send me some Youtube links that proved this kid could actually rap. I said “I’ll send you a #BASED mixtape and sent me a ZIP file (brilliant move…keep reading) I listened to it…I thought some of it was silly and some stuff he was doing to get attention…again…then I turned my ‘NAH, MAN, NAH…’ filter off…and I listened again.
The kid can rap. The kid makes points. Some of it is silly and he is doing it to get attention…and it’s brilliant.

I went to Youtube and researched #BASED more and found that…well, there was only ONE dude doing #BASED music, the aforementioned #BASEDGOD. #ThankYouBasedGod.

I announced to the world via Twitter that their buddy, Rusty Redenbach, Big Chief Ripple Rocket, is #BASED. People thought I was stupid. “WHAT? You like that guy?” and I began the same process of swagging people out as Catfish had done for me. “Dude, he’s got 2500 songs you can download, you’ll HAFTA like something.” “Man, the guy does what he WANTS. He’s punk rock as fuck! He doesn’t care what you think and that is so #SHRUGLIFE, I hafta support it. I hafta, man. Fast forward to July 4 of this year. Catfish sends me the ‘Like Caillou’ freestyle with the quote; “Listen to this amazing #BASED freestyle.”. I NATURALLY thought it was Lil B, because he was the only person I was familiar with that claimed #BASED. I was wrong. At first, when the beat hit with all the cussin on the intro juxtaposed against a child singing about being 4 years old, I FELL OUT. GENIUS.

@Catf1sh (one of my favorite follows on Twitter. #Shruglife did that.) turned me on to the original version of this song and it saved my Friday a coupla weeks ago. Just 87 seconds of pure fun, man. The beat, the rap, everything, just my SHIT! HAHAH! I played it all day the first day I heard it and couldn’t keep it outta my head. It’s hypnotic and energetic, which is a rare combo.
