Another one of those days where the urge to be creative and let you hear what I am working on took over.
This is another DIY video from my NEXT album, ‘LOWER’, which is in fact, DONE. Just timing and opportunity are what are keeping me from getting it to you.
I’m proud as a mug of this one; like ‘The Tinkerer’, I am responsible for every sound. voice and concept you will hear on ‘LOWER’. I’m excited to see what y’all think. I believe I have a nice varied range of stuff on this album, but it’s cohesive and bangs….differently.
This is ‘Trouble Again’ from ‘LOWER’, a tune where I flex the golden pipes a bit for ya. I also wanted to try some different stuff with film speeds and filters. Just goofing, man. I had a good time with it.

I never thought I would ever get to see this man play live.
He’s been a huge influence on me since I first discovered his work through The Beastie Boys’ old magazine ‘Grand Royal’.
I found a tape (!!!) called ‘All The Hits’ for a dollar (!!!) after I read the article. That mug STAYED in the deck. My friends would come over and wonder why I was listening to this hissy, odd sounding tape EVERY TIME they came over. I don’t even think I could explain it at the time. It just touched me.
I’ve been throwing references to his work in mine ever since, going as far back as the first Mudkids album and most recently with ‘The Tinkerer’s Dub (Mpozitivity)’ on my latest release, Rusty Redenbacher - ‘The Tinkerer’
In later years, I came to realize how massive his influence was on reggae music. He recorded and produced some incredible sides for Bob Marley And The Wailers, when they were making the move from ‘ska’ into what is now recognized worldwide as ‘reggae’ music.
He invented ‘Dub’ reggae. He’s one of the first people to truly use the studio as an instrument. He was doing things with a four track in 1970 that people can’t figure out or replicate today. Just amazing.
Well, I saw Scratch kill the devil last night with Muhbabay in my hometown. It was one of the best nights out I’ve had in a long time, thought I should share some of it with you.

…and we were right to do so.
He was a lover, not a fighter…and I was cool with that, man. I never liked the beginning of that video. *shrug*

Just saw Drake’s ‘HYFR’ video and Weezy had a look that struck me as mighty familiar. That’s him on the left.
On the right, that’s me from the first online video I posted as ‘The Tinkerer’, ‘The Funk’, in November of last year.
I’m not an egomaniac that thinks this dude jacked some aspects of my shit or anything, but I will say this: WATCH ME because I have ALWAYS tried to be ahead of the curve, original, and I keep new content online.
I am always striving for something new, an ill way to present it and I know someone somewhere is watching.

So, I crafted this lil promo video for ‘LOWER’ last night.
Somehow, the text on the word ‘LOWER’ got cut in half.
I didn’t mean for that to happen…but I dug it.
It looks like the word is representing itself, like it’s half buried or sinking into something.
I can roll with it.
I dig ‘happy accidents’.

I’m about done with ‘LOWER’. It’s funky, raw, and real. Again, I am responsible for every sound you hear on this album, just like ‘The Tinkerer’.
