Why Does #NaptownSlim Tell It? I’ll tell you here…
Hey, It’s Russ.
I dealt with a lotta ‘overthinking and overanalyzing’ some really basic truths. Now, I can cut to the chase, very well.
I’ve always been able to speak my mind, but there were years of misery that made it so I was unable to do so…to anyone…ever.
You know how hard that is to deal with when you’ve been an artist and person that strives for ‘reality’ in your art and life and you also wanna keep putting out a ‘positive’ message and vibe, but your life is HELL? It was horrible. It was the absolute worst time of my life.
I was living in virtual HELL and couldn’t talk about it. Not only that, I had to keep up a brave front as I was wandering my way out of it. Then, when I figured out I was in Hell and shamed the Devil with truth…I was hated even more. I knew I was in Hell but was so determined to make it better somehow, I couldn’t just leave it behind. I had to make it make sense. It was in my soul now.
News flash: Hell don’t get no better and the longer you stay there, the worse it gets.
I think that has led to what you see and hear from me now. I’m back to myself…and I’m happy. I can access these awful memories of awful people and the awful feelings that came with them to make someone else see a light.
When you constantly have ideas put in your head that go against them, you start to over think things and allow those false ideas to warp your understanding of things you grew up knowing and you KNOW are true.
I go through things. You go through things. We all go through things. I have every right to be a hostile bastard to some people should I want to. I’d rather keep it simple by not talking to them and warning the good people around me that there are people in this world who will do anything to get over in so many ways, emotionally, vocationally, mentally, socially, financially…. if you are one of those people, you very well might not like what I have to say, but if you are one of those people, I really don’t care about your opinion because you are ‘anti’ everything that I am and wanna be.
So there’s that. …and that leads us to today. A good day.
So sayeth Naptown Slim…and I’m gon keep saying what needs to be heard. Whether the people who need to hear it or not is not my problem; I just got reeeeeal tired of shutting up.
I’d advise all y’all to use your voice too.

YoyoyoyoYO…once again, Naptown Slim gotta word for you today and this word is ALWAYS supposed to be good, but it can be abused.
Love, y’all.
Love is the most powerful force in my life, man. I would hope it would be the most powerful force in yours too. You gotta know what it is though. It’s hard to explain sometimes, man, but when it’s real, there’s no way to deny it.
People say “Slim, you put a lotta love into the world, bruh.” I say, “I do what I can.” While it is the most motivating factor in my life, it’s also the easiest thing about me to exploit…cuz I put it all out there. There’s no question about what I love, who I love, what I love to do, and why I love these things. Now, I guess, I’m a little more guarded…in my estimation, evaluating me, but people seem to still feel that love come through in what I do.
If you were to ask me, that’s cuz I know what it is like to feel unloved. I don’t want anyone close to me to ever feel like that from me, y’all. I have to let it go. Let Slim tell it; the love you see from me is natural…and I love being able to let it be shown. I hope it affects people in a positive way.
I love freely and openly to counteract the unnatural ways, wants, and desires of the material world we live in. I am a spirit. Everything you see me do is controlled by love.
I really really try.
All I can ask of y’all, my people, is that you really really try to keep the love in your life real and pure. Don’t waste it on people that don’t understand it or acknowledge it. It’s precious, a renewable resource when properly used; wasted when not reciprocated.
I got it for you, man. Just cuz. Somewhere in me, I got it for you, no matter who you are. I hope it’s always easy to access.

Gather ‘round, children. Naptown Slim got somethin to say. We talk about love so much, but we gotta stay real and flip the coin. I’m gonna talk about them ‘haters’.
Let’s define it; you havin an opinion that ain’t the same as mine ain’t ‘hatin’. If you go outta your way to inject negativity into one’s life, that’s hatin.
I may hafta tell the truth about someone and it may sting, but the tone in which I do it will determine the difference between ‘hatin’ and just some shit you didn’t wanna hear about yourself. You’ll be aight. Slim don’t hate you, but Slim gon tell it. Slim gon tell that truth.
Too many people negate the power of the idea of ‘hatin’ by using the word to describe situations where they have found conflict. LIFE is about conflicts and resolutions. People gon be against you, man. Cold blooded.
Dig. I got too much shit of my own going on to be bothered with ‘hatin’ on you. Anyone with something going on in their life should be able to say that.
Haters out here with your aura all in their mind, wanting you to stop doing you so they can shine. Don’t give em the pleasure. You now know a sucka when you meet one. Apply the terms correctly and keep it moving.
People say “Let your haters be your motivators.”. Nah, B. Slim was motivated before you got here. THAT’S why people be hatin, they want your creativity, motovation, and enthusiasm. Envy is real as hell in the heart of a hater.
You can rearrange the letters in the word ‘hater’ to spell ‘heart’ which leads to my point: a hater has a mixed-up heart, not knowing where to place the love that is naturally in it. Sad. Cold blooded, ain’t it.
Motivate yourself. Get your heart right and get that hate outta it, by any means necessary.
