#ATFU #Bang #NewTrack #ListenHere
I chopped this up into the pieces I wanted and started on the arrangement of this last night. Chilled all day, just knocked this out about 15 minutes ago. Ain’t even heard it in the whip and I wanted to share it with you because I think it’s REALLY ILL.
I had no intentions of making a jazz track or whatever, man…I just did what I felt as I went along. I make the tracks as I go, no sequencers. I go back and listen and count and use all the things I learned about rhythm and the mixing of music from rhyming and being a DJ to help me figure out where the changes should go. I pieced this entire thing together on Garageband, which I have found to be a REMARKABLE program. (I’ve been using it for three years to record vocals and had no idea how much you could do with production on it. #ItsANewDay.)
Kid, I didn’t even trigger these joints with the keyboard or nothing. Just funky with the edits, baby. I dig this joint, man. Lemme know what you think. My disc just got done burning and I’m gonna go listen in the car.
#PUNKROCKTHISSHIT in a jazzy style….and GIVE THE DRUMMER SOME.

I wanna take a minute to tell you about this very #LEGENDARY coat of MANY COLORS.
This jacket belonged to JACK GILFOY, an Indianapolis Jazz Legend and a man that was like family to me. It blessed the stage with the Henry Mancini Orchestra for many years, making the man behind the drum kit look like a kajillion dollars of #swag.
I learned many things from Jack Gilfoy, just by him ‘being’, but he was also an educator, teaching many of the youth of Indianapolis about the ways of music and rhythm as a college professor.
One of the greatest honors I have had was when Mr. Gilfoy asked me to come and speak in one of his college classes he taught. He just wanted me to come in and give it to the kids real about what life is like as an independent artist and made me feel like I was actually someone worth talking to that actually knew what he was doing. That was big coming from someone with his pedigree and I wear this jacket with pride.
Yes, the shoulders are a bit tight and the arms are a bit short, but this jacket belonged to a great man. This jacket made that great man look awesome as he provided the rhythms behind jazz legends and kept whole orchestras swingin. This is an incredible jacket of many colors that has been more places than I have been…
…yet…
…and it’ll come with me when I go.
Thank you, Mr. Jack Gilfoy. Seriously.
