I’m posting this over here cuz I try to keep it in the timeline on Twitter. I’m making an effort to keep everything neat and tidy and easy to get to once you get here. If you have been here for a while, you may have missed it. If you’re new, I wanna get you laced up with the whole team.
@ATFU_ is a group of seven cats that got together to hustle this thang called ‘music’. We collaborate, promote and release our projects through our blog, ‘#ATFU, The Tornado Alley on Tumblr. Each member of the crew is an artist in their own right, with many members multitasking on production and DJ work. We do everything we can in-house and when we outsource, whoever we are working with is basically one of ‘US’, meaning that we will be supporting their projects just as they did ours.
We decided that being an example of the strength of unity was beneficial to all of us.
We’re all dedicated to the idea that hip-hop is still the most potent cultural movement in the world. We’re dedicated to the craft and the culture of hip-hop, with no intentions of playing ourselves out for the sake of ‘getting on’. We will be uniquely ‘US’, for as long as you know ‘US’.

E Dot Spencer has been working really hard on ‘Born To Fly’ AND of course, the hoop game. He leaves for China on the 6th of September to continue furthering his career as a professional hooper.
Yes, “China”. Yes, “professional”. ‘Dotta The Globetrotta’, we told you.
Before he leaves though, we will release his epic album, ‘Born To Fly’ here on Sept. 3. Dotta said he wanted to be in the States to celebrate this release with everybody, so the 3rd it is. Yes, we know it’s a Saturday and often ‘release-day’ is Tuesday, but we make our own rules.

#Also, #AsWell, Rusty Redenbacher is prepping the release of his first self-produced album, ‘The Tinkerer’. Produced, written, recorded, and mixed by Rusty in a week between the 9th of August and the 16th, it’s definitely a ‘different’ sounding project from Redenbach. Claiming everything from Nikolai Tesla to Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry as influences, ‘The Tinkerer’ is an album that should give fans of forward-thinking hip-hop and dusted grooves something to talk about.

Here’s another snippet tape from ‘The Tinkerer’. I just crafted this because I am mad excited about this album and before I start dropping full tracks, I want you to get a feel for how the album grooves. I gotta say this, everyone I have played a few tracks for says “Man, this is different…”, so I’m really geeked about what I did here, yo.
‘The Tinkerer’ just happened, man. It was an amazing experience putting this thing together, which is how I feel about everything #ATFU affiliated. I just love making this music and what’s great about ‘The Tinkerer’ is the full budget for recording is about $29.99. (bought a spindle of CD’s to make it happen…I’ll tell you about my production process for this album later.)
DIY, BABY…you ain’t gotta have all them pretty mics and fancy lit-up gadgets to make music. You gotta have grit, ideas, inspiration, and some soul don’t hurt.
