Got in the mix today and had a gang of fun with it. Thought I’d share.
They’re two…well…four separate sets, but they’re paired up to work together. Basically, two separate hours of mixing…You can see what’s on there with the pics.
Just rock with me, I like a lotta stuff. Always glad to turn folks on to sometjing they may not be hip to or play something they dig already in a different way.
‘RUSTY’S MONDAY GROOVE (PARTS 1 & 2)’ (Mediafire)
‘SLIM’S PICKIN’S (Parts 1 & 2)’ (Mediafire)
Y’all have fun with those.
Holler at ya on the TV, radio and online.
I AM out cheah.
The original is better. Just saying…it’s one of my faves of the era.
One of the catchier songs about sexual orientation confusion and AIDS hysteria in the 80’s too.
This album and the one after it are both dope and Dr. Robert is a DOPE singer.
‘Public Assistance’ - “Why work for a living when you can play this GREAT WELFARE GAME?”
This is a product of the Reagan’s 80’s. They tried to keep it from being too overtly racist by having a buncha white folks on the front of the box and in some of the illustrations on the game cards, then you open the box and you get to see all the racism that supposed to be passed off as humor.
“Your daughter brings home an ethnic boyfriend. Pay hospital bill as result of incident. $150”
“You are up for high-paying promotion but Government ‘Affirmative Action’ requires that a ‘disadvantaged’ minority, homosexual, Buddhist female be promoted over you. Lose $500.”
HAHA!! Oh, this racism is KILLING me!
This is the kinda game Tea Party people get a kick out of. They play this kinda game to teach their kids how to judge people. Why bother playing ‘Monopoly’ or ‘Life’ when you can get all your racism into your kids’ heads with ‘Public Assistance’? Fun for the whole family.
…as long as they’re not ‘ethnic’.
This song is FULL of jewels
“Don’t you rush to get old…”
“Live your life…”
…and it’s FONKAY.
Listen. Learn. Jam.
Man, I loved this band. Bought all the import singles, went and found the albums wherever I could, even owned the ‘Southern Death Cult’ album on vinyl (which had the hole in the center cut OFF-CENTER, rendering it essentially unlistenable. I lost.)
…but this song was the one that started it all for me. I stuck with em thru ‘Electric’, which is a cool album in its own right, but truly sounded like Rick Rubin forced them to throw away all their Doors’ albums and replace them with AC/DC albums. ‘Sonic Temple’ was a perfect mesh of the album this song is from (‘Love’) and the rawkrawkrawk vibe of ‘Electric’. After that, I had to let em go… ‘Ceremony’ is an AWFUL album, by anyone’s standards.
This right here tho…? Every time that opening riff starts I get hyped. Just a great record and it still holds up. Timeless, man.
#NowPlaying, one of the best albums from the 80’s. This one always gets overlooked.
