A selfish soul cannot survive next to a benevolent one. Something has gotta give in that situation; someone will break.
That’s just how that goes down. If you got a selfish person and a giving person trying to work together on anything, one of those souls is gonna hafta give up some of their characteristics.
The optimum situation is that both of them work together and pick up some qualities from each other, but what will usually happen is the soul that gives freely and out of love will be taken advantage of by the selfishness inherent in the soul of the other.
Selfishness is a terrible disease. It makes people do things that they swore they wouldn’t ever do. It makes people turn their backs on those who truly care for them. And there are times when you will NEED to be selfish, but you can’t be so selfish that you make moves that are only based on what YOU want.
There’s a world out here, as you might very well get to see it, but being PART of it is a whole ‘nother story.
Selfishness and greed make people different, for better or worse. It’s all in how you play it, yourself and others.
